Reviews for The Cheesy Toast Shack
Review highlights
Based on 756 reviewsThe Cheesy Toast Shack in St Andrews is widely praised for its flavorful and innovative toastie offerings, particularly those featuring multiple types of cheese and unique ingredients like goat cheese and macaroni. Customers appreciate the friendly and welcoming service, often noting the personable interactions with staff and the relaxed atmosphere. While the café experiences high demand leading to some wait times, many find the delay reasonable given the quality and popularity of the food. The location also benefits from a pleasant setting, enhancing the overall experience. Some feedback suggests vigilance around local wildlife, but this does not detract from the overall positive impression of this beloved fast-food spot.
The Triple Cheese toastie was soooo yummy! The Mac ‘n’ Cheese toastie was a bit mid, but still interesting to try at least once. My only complaint is the long wait time—definitely a result of the place’s popularity. Oh, and watch out for the hungry seagulls!
Absolutely Fantastic toasties. Had the macaroni one. Service was quick enough considering the large queue. Maybe a 15- minute wait after ordering. but totally worth it.
We where recommend the Toast Shack on our visit to St. Andrews and we where not disappointed. Beautiful toasties and the ladies serve with a friendly smile on their faces and chat away! Excellent all in. The picture of the toastie i took doesn't do it justice. We will definitely be back next time we visit St. Andrews.
What a lovely find. I popped in for a coffee while I waited for my bus to Crail. Owner has a really cool Jeep and was happy to chat and let me take photos. See you again soon.
Delicious goat cheese toast!!!! There were many people but we didn't have to wait long. Also very beautiful scenery, especially on a sunny day! :)
Friendly staff. Always busy. Perfectly cooked. Great tasting toasties. Nice Milkshakes. Next to the beach with great views.
We stopped by The Cheesy Toast Shack and waited around 15 minutes for our food, which was reasonable given how popular it is. The toasties were well worth the wait hot, delicious, and generously filled, making for a satisfying meal. I had the New Yorker with pastrami, mustard, and gherkins, which was packed with flavour, while my partner went for the Red Leicester with chorizo and chilli jam, which had a great balance of spice and richness. The portion sizes were good, and we both left feeling full. A great spot to stop for a coffee or a bite to eat, especially when out on a dog walk.
No visit to St Andrews is complete without a visit here, we have been coming for a few years but mainly used to visit the Kingsbarn shack. Toasties are always phenomenal, the staff are always happy and friendly. Love a classic, I don’t know how they do, but they just make them sooo good and so moreish. It is hard to resist a visit when in the area. Worth every bite
